Motion of the Ocean

The ocean was doing what oceans do — all that fury of navy and teal and white foam, practically loud, heaving and crashing and breaking itself apart.

And this bird just stands. Orange beak tucked, watching. The warm yellow sand beneath it a surprise against all that blue chaos. Warm against cold. Still against everything moving. The whole ocean is happening and it has seen it all before.

What Rody has done here is capture sound. Those waves aren't painted, they're notated — like sheet music for something crashing. And then the bird lands the whole composition like a period at the end of a very loud sentence.

Some things don't need to move to hold their ground.
